Forouzan Afrouzi is a visual artist based in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She studied an MFA at the University of Art in Tehran (Iran). Her practice moves fluidly between drawing and sculpture, exploring the human body and biomorphic forms in states of instability and change. She works with graphite on paper and fabric sculpture, examining the body as both fragile and mutable, fragmented, reassembled, and reshaped into new configurations.
Her work reflects on vulnerability, perishability, and the evolving nature of identity, creating forms that move between disconnection and reconstruction. Recently, she has been researching ways to incorporate bioplastics into her practice, expanding her exploration of materiality and the possibilities of new forms.
