Afterfound 2025
Call for Artists

Common Ground Arts Society (CG) and Latitude 53 (L53) are jointly seeking expressions of interest from visual/installation/multimedia artists to design a performance space at CG’s 2025 Found Festival July 9-13, 2025.
The selected artist/collective will be tasked with the installation design for the Festival’s new AfterFound Night Club, where nightly performances of music, drag, theatre, and more will welcome Festival audiences. AfterFound will be placed in the Fringe Grounds Café, also known as the lobby for the Westbury Theatre at the Fringe Theatre Arts Barns.
Space Specifications:
One approximately 12’x12’ stage (provided by the venue)
Cabaret tables and chairs (provided by the venue)
Approximately 500sqft floor space
Some infrastructure for hanging décor/instruments above the floor space
The artist will be tasked with designing stage décor, table dressings, and other room activations to transform the space into an immersive “club” design.
Artistic Inspiration:
The space will act as a late-night cabaret club.
The space will be host to playful, high-energy performances from many backgrounds of artists.
The artist is asked to use entirely recycled/repurposed materials (or as close to entirely as possible) as opposed to new materials.
Project Schedule:
May 19, 2025: Call for artists closes at 11:59pm
May 24: Offer to selected artist sent
May 26 – 29: The artist will be expected to attend a project onboarding meeting between these dates to receive space details, tech specs, and direction from CG and L53.
June 15: Initial concept sketch from artist due
June 20 – July 6: Build dates
July 7 & 8 from 9am-5pm: Installation in the space
July 9-13: Found Festival & AfterFound Events
July 14: Strike
Contract Details:
The artist will be contracted by Common Ground Arts and receive support from both Common Ground and Latitude 53.
The artist will receive $2,500.00 inclusive of artist fee and materials budget.
The artist will receive professional photography of the installation (both while activated by performers and not) for future portfolio use.

Build support, labour, space, and equipment
Creative & technical consultation
Additional technical equipment as needed (cameras, TVs, projectors, etc)
