Lauren Crazybull’s now-online exhibition in the Garage, TSIMA KOHTOTSITAPIIHPA Where are you from? has been extended through Saturday, April 18 and will culminate in a live musical performance by Matthew Cardinal. Cardinal contributed a musical score to the audio production that is featured in the exhibition, which is now available in full, on our website. As part of the exhibition’s transition from the gallery space to the internet, the exhibition book that documented Crazybull’s travels during their time as the 2019 Alberta Artist-in-Residence is also available for online viewing through April 18. As well, Crazybull’s full live streamed artist talk with Faye HeavyShield can be viewed through Facebook and our website.
Matthew Cardinal is an indigenous musician based in amiskwaciy (Edmonton, AB). He uses a variety of synthesizers and samplers to create melodic and delicate music that shifts from drones and lullabies to sparkling beats and walls of sound.
