Call for Trans/non-binary artists

A partnership between Latitude 53 & Vivek Shraya

Artist Vivek Shraya is excited to support one trans/non-binary artist through the VS. Arts Grant to create an installation in Latitude 53’s large storefront windows (Edmonton). Artists will receive an artist fee ($1000) and a materials stipend (up to $1000). A travel stipend (up to $1500) will be offered to artists outside Alberta.

Works will be exhibited for 6 weeks in June/July, with one week allotted for installation and teardown the week before and after the run of the exhibition. The Latitude 53 team will provide support and guidance with installation.

We are especially looking for art that is bold, visually disruptive, and thought-provoking. Applicants should identify as trans/non-binary and be living in Canada.

Applications can be submitted via this Google Form and must include:

• Bio

• CV detailing past artistic experience

• Project description: your creative vision for the window installation (250–500 words)

• Up to 5 examples of previous work
